Welch Goes Low, Finishes 3rd at Boilermaker Invitational

Patrick Welch carded a final round 64 to finish in a tie for third place at the Boilermaker Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in Indiana.
Welch finished at 10-under par for the tournament to finish solo third, one shot behind co-winners Jase Summy and Herman Wibe Sekne.

Over the two-day span, Welch posted rounds of 71, 68 and 64 to clim the leaderboard.
His final round 64 tied the best score of the day by anyone in the field.
Meanwhile, Welch’s Oklahoma Sooners rallied in the final round, but fell one shot short.
Purdue won the tournament at 30-under, while Oklahoma finished at 29-under.
Welch’s Final Round
Welch opened the final round with a bogey on the second hole, but rebounded by birdieing five of the next six holes to turn at four-under for the day.
On the back side, Welch birdied ten, bogeyed 11 and then eagled the 12th hole to get to six-under for the day.
Another bogey on 13, set hime back one, but he closed strong with birdies on the 16th and 18th holes to shoot 64.
