Tiger Woods Withdraws from The Masters

Tiger Woods withdrew from the Masters Tournament early Sunday morning prior to the re-start of the third round.
This is the first time that he has ever withdrawn from the tournament.
“I am disappointed to have to WD this morning due to reaggravating my plantar fasciitis. Thank you to the fans and to The masters who have shown me so much love and support. Good luck to the players today,” Woods wrote in a social media post.

Woods played seven holes of his third round on Saturday afternoon and looked to be in more and more pain while simply trying to walk.
Play was stopped in the afternoon due to weather and resumed early Sunday morning.
It is assumed that Woods will try and tee it up at next month’s PGA Championship, though it is uncertain how that will go.
