RI’s Hegstrom Finishes 5th at Drive, Chip + Putt Championship

Rhode Island’s Hazel Hegstrom finished in a tie for fifth at the Drive, Chip + Putt Championship on Sunday morning at Augusta National. 

Hegstrom competed in the Girls 7-9 year-old vision and finished with 17 points over the three sessions.

Hegstrom Scoring Breakdown 

In the drive portion of the completion, Hegstrom blasted her tee shot 159 yards to earn seven points. 

The chipping portion of the program consisted of two chips and the length of the two chips were combined. 

So Hegstrom’s first chip ended up 30’10” from the hole, her second chip was 12’7” and so her total was 43’5”

She got one point in the chip. 

The same with the putting, her two putts were combined. 

Hegstrom’s first putt was 4’2” from the hole, and her second putt was 0’6”. 

She need with a total of 4’8” for nine points.  

The nine points were the second most of anyone in her age group.
