Chatfield Finishes 61st After Final Round 77 at Astara Chile Classic
Davis Chatfield carded a final round 77 (5-over) to drop 36 spots on the leaderboard and finish in a tie for 61st at the Astara Chile Classic on Sunday afternoon on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The 77 follows two rounds of 66 which put the former RI Amateur Champ around the top 20 heading into the final round.
However, three bogeys on the first nine holes, followed by two bogeys and a triple on the back nine saw him finish the round with a 77.
Chatfield has two tournaments left on his exemption and is projected to be ranked 113th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list after this week.
Chatfield’s Round
Chatfield opened the final round with three straight pars before disaster struck.
He bogeyed the fourth, fifth and sixth holes, before getting one of those bogeys back with a birdie on the ninth to turn at 38.
On the back side, Chatfield bogeyed the 12th hole, and made birdie on the 14th hole.
On the 16th, Chatfield made a bogey and then made a triple-bogey seven on the 17th hole to go to six over for the day.
The former Notre Dame star closed with a birdie on 18 to shoot 77.
