URI’s Gillis, O’Donovan Earn A-10 Honors
University of Rhode Island Golf stars Aidan O’Donovan and Brandon Gillis each received big honors from the A-10 for their performance this past week.
Gillis was named the A-10 Golfers of the Week, while O’Donovan was awarded the Rookie of the Week.
Gillis’ Week
The redshirt senior fired a three-under 141 to help lead the Rams to is second straight team title at the Carpetbagger Classic this past week.
Gillis posted a two-under round on the opening day and followed up with a one under round on the final day.
He missed out on medalist honors by one shot.
O’Donovan’s Week
O’Donovan tied for 16th overall at the Carpetbagger Classic, with a 149 (72-77). Hailing from Somerville, Mass., his 5-over 149 was the seventh best score in the field, and his opening round 72 placed him tied for eighth after the first round.
