Pawtucket CC Legend Jim Tanner Passes Away

Pawtucket Country Club legend Jim Tanner has passed away at the age of 84.

Tanner was fixture at Pawtucket since 1952 working his way up from Caddy to Caddy Master.

“JT to me was one of the best mentors I have ever had in the golf business, he knew how to put things in perspective the old school way,” said former Pawtucket pro Jim Maynard in a phone call with GolfNewsRI.

In 2011, the Jim Tanner Caddy Classic was formed and consisted of over 150 players.
