Francoeur Advances to Valspar Championship Monday Qualifier
Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur is headed to another PGA Tour Monday Qualifier.
Francoeur pre-qualified for the Valspar Championship Monday qualifier on Tuesday and will have a chance to play a PGA Tour event next week.
Francoeur does not have PGA or Korn Ferry Tour membership and so to get into PGA Tour Monday qualifiers, he has to pre-qualify.
The Valspar Championship Monday Q is March 13.
Francoeur’s Round
Francoeur opened the round with a birdie on the second hole, then dropped birdies on the seventh and ninth holes to turn at 33.
On the back side, Francoeur birdied the 12th hole, but then made back-to-back bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes.
With 19 players advancing to the Monday Q, there was room for error.
Francoeur birdied the 16th hole and then closed with a bogey on the 18th to post a two-under 70 and finish in a tie for third.
