Quigley Leads Cologuard Classic, Adamonis in 52nd After Round 1

Rhode Island’s Brett Quigley fired a seven-under 65 and leads the Cologuard Classic by one shot after the opening round on Friday in Arizona. 

Quigley leads John Huston, Kirk Triplett and Brian Cooper, all by one shot with two rounds to go.

After turning at two-under 34, Quigley dropped five birdies on the back nine to take the lead. 

His birdie on 17 gave him the lead. 

The 65 was Quigley’s lowest 18-hole score on the Champions Tour since the 2022 Boeing Classic where he carded a 64. 

Meanwhile, Billy Andrade is in a tie for 36th at even par for the tournament.

Adamonis on Tour 

Adamonis got into the Champions Tour event after winning the Monday Qualifier earlier this week. 

Starting the day on the back side, Adamonis saved par on the first three holes, before making a bogey on the 13th hole. 

He made another bogey on 18 and turned at two over par. 

On the front side, Adamonis bogeyed the first hole, before making his first birdie of the day on the sixth hole. 

He finished the first round at two-over 74.
