5 Local Golf Pros Receive Big Honors

Five local golf pros received high honors from the New England PGA (NEPGA) Rhode Island Chapter on Friday afternoon.
Three of the pros work at Rhode Island clubs and two in Massachusetts.

Newport National’s Chris Hulme was named Golf Professional of the Year, for the first time in his career.
“To win the award is pretty cool because you are nominated by your peers, and that’s really what I think the top award is. Not only do you go over and beyond, but over and beyond and get recognized by your peers,” said Hulme.

Fall River’s Zane Brownrigg has been named the Assistant Professional of the Year..
The Merchandiser of the Year goes to Alpine’s Nate Adelson and the Teacher of the Year goes to Todd Campbell at Cranston Country Club.
The Acoaxet Club’s Brent Amaral is awarded the Youth Player Development award.
