Francoeur Advances to Puerto Rico Open Monday Qualifier

Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur has advanced to the Monday Qualifier for the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open.

Francoeur does not have PGA or Korn Ferry Tour membership and so to get into PGA Tour Monday qualifiers, he has to pre-qualify.

Both tournaments begin on March 2.

Francoeur’s Round

Things didn’t get off to a great start as Francoeur bogeyed the opening hole, however, he quickly bounced back.

Francoeur birdied the second and third hole, then added another birdie on the seventh hole to turn at 34.

After two pars to start the back nine, Francoeur birdied the 12th hole and then finished with a string of birdies on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes.
