Francoeur Misses Cut by 1 Shot at Honda Classic Pre-Q
Heartbreaker.
Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur missed the cut by one shot at The Honda Classic Pre-Qualifier on Wednesday at Boca Lago in Boca Raton, Florida.
Francoeur posted a four-under 68 and the cut was five-under.
“Game of inches. Onward,” Francoeur wrote in a social media post on Wednesday night.
Overall, eight players qualified.
Francoeur’s Round
Francoeur opened the round with a birdie on the first hole, but then a bogey on the par-5 third hole.
He parred out the rest of the nine to turn at even par.
On the back side, Francoeur got hot.
He dropped a birdie putt on 11, rolled in birdie putts on 13 and 14 and birdied 18 to get to four-under.
Unfortunately, he fell one short.
