Nick Maresca Takes Over as Lincoln CC Head Pro

Nick Maresca is the new head pro at Lincoln Country Club.

Maresca comes to Lincoln after serving as the head pro at Glocester Country Club for one season.

“The opportunity to go back to the place that I grew up at was not something I could turn down. Glocester was great to me, the members were great, but this was not something I could pass up,” Maresca told GolfNewsRI.

As GolfNewsRI reported, longtime pro Bruce MacDonald retired at the beginning of this year.

“Bruce did a phenomenal job there the last 20 years and I have some big shoes to fill,” Maresca added.

Maresca will also return to Lincoln High School and reclaim coaching duties of the golf team.

He left the program upon taking the job at Glocester.

“That was a tough thing to give up, I’ve been doing that since 2007 and I’m excited to be back,” said Maresca.

He tells GolfNewsRI that LHS’ home course will move from Kirkbrae to Lincoln Country Club.

Lincoln in Good Shape

Maresca takes over a Lincoln Country Club that is in as good a shape membership wise as it has ever been.

According to MacDonald, in 2019, Lincoln did 11,900 rounds, 2020 the club grew to 17,100 rounds, 17,200 in 2021 and this past summer Lincoln did 17,900 rounds.

That includes 70 rounds of golf on December 30.

“Lately, people are staying in place more at their clubs, golf professionals are working as hard as they have ever worked. Lincoln CC is in as good a spot as it has ever been, I’m glad I was a part of it over the last three years,” said MacDonald.

MacDonald says the club is totally booked, with a waiting list to get in.
