Back 9 Eagle Lifts Quigley into 2nd After Round 1 on Champions Tour
Rhode Island’s Brett Quigley dropped a 20+ foot eagle putt on the 12th hole to lift him into a tie for second place in the PGA Champions Tour’s Trophy Hassan II event on Thursday.
Quigley is three-under for the tournament and three shots behind sole leader Stephen Ames with two rounds left.
Quigley’s Round
Starting on the front side, Quigley bogeyed the fourth hole, but bounced back with a birdie on the sixth hole to turn at even par.
On the back side, Quigley bogeyed the 11th hole, but then he got hot.
Reaching the par-5 12th in two, Quigley rolled in the left to right breaking putt for an eagle to jumpstart his day.
He then dropped a birdie putt on the 13th hole and another on the 18th to card a 70.
