Patrick Welch Named Co-Captain of Oklahoma Golf Team
Patrick Welch has been named a co-captain of the University of Oklahoma Golf Team, head coach Ryan Hybl announced on Monday.
The other co-captain is Stephen Campbell Jr.
The Sooners spring season will start on February 17 as they seek to get back to the National Championship for the third straight year.
Welch is a fifth year senior and is gearing up for his last semester of college golf.
The former Classical star is currently ranked eighth in PGA Tour University and is staring down an exemption onto the Korn Ferry Tour upon graduation.
Most recently, Welch got his second start on the PGA Tour in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
After a good first day, he struggled the second day in brutal wind conditions and missed the cut.
