Patrick Welch Misses Cut at Farmers Insurance Open
Patrick Welch has missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines.
After a one-over 73 at Torrey Pines South Course on day one, Welch moved over to the North Course for day two and carded a four-over 76.

While the North Course is considered easier, wind conditions on day two made things difficult for Welch and the entire field.
The former Classical star will now rejoin his Oklahoma Sooners for the spring season which starts on February 12.
Welch’s Round
Welch needed to get off to a good start in the round and the exact opposite happened.
He missed the fairway on the opening tee shot, and made a bogey on one.
The same thing happened on two, except Welch doubled the second hole to get to three over for the day.
After saving par on the third hole, Welch bogeyed the fourth hole, again from the rough.
Welch only hit 50% of fairways this week and the rough proved to be a problem, especially on day two.
On the par-5 fifth hole, Welch hit the fairway and was on the green in two, but three-putted for par.
After another par on six, Welch birdied the seventh hole after driving the green, then bogeyed the par-3 eighth hole and birdied the par-5 ninth hole to turn at 39.
On the back side, Welch three-putted for bogey on the 12th hole and made another bogey on the 15th hole.
Welch hit 61% of greens in regulation for the week.
He closed with a birdie on 17 to finish four-over for the day and five over of the tournament.
