NCAA Further Expands DI Women’s Golf Championship

The NCAA announced that they are further expanding the Division I Women’s Golf Championship.

The tournament will now feature 30 teams – the same as the men’s tournament.

This announcement comes just over a month after the NCAA announced the tournament would be increased to 27 teams.

“There is significant importance in providing equitable participation opportunities for our women student-athletes. We are thrilled with the announcement by the Division I Competition Oversight Committee to move to 30 teams and 156 deserving student-athletes for the upcoming 2023 championship finals,” said Bradford Hurlbut, director of athletics at Fairleigh Dickinson and chair of the Division I Women’s Golf Committee.

There will be a total of 156 student-athletes competing at the championship.
