Doral Publix Jr. Championship Round 1 Scoring Summary

Round one of the Doral Publix Jr. Championship is in the books and round two is just about underway down in Florida. 

It was a bit of a tough day for the locals, but plenty of time to bounce back. 

Here is a scoring summary for each of the locals:

Boys 16-18

Max Jackson 

Jackson posted a 76 in the first round and started the second round just outside the cutline at seven over par. 

In the time of this writing, Jackson has moved just inside the cutline as his round is just underway. 

In his opening round, the La Salle star bogeyed the first and fourth holes, before bouncing back with a birdie on the fifth hole.

Jackson then strung together a bunch of pars before closing with three bogeys on the final six holes. 

Joe Earley & Rocco Biafore 

Both players are going to need a special second round to make the cut. 

Earley is 17-over par after a first round 89, while Biafore is 19-over after a first round 89. 

Biafore’s total includes the first few holes of his second round. 

Girls 16-18 

Kylie Eaton 

The Moses Brown senior fired a first round 78 and begins round two of the tournament in a tie for 25th overall at six-over par. 

Eaton opened her round with a bogey on the second hole, a birdie on the third hole and a seven on the fifth hole. 

She then followed up with bogeys on the eighth hole, tenth hole and 12th hole. 

A double on 16 was followed by a closing birdie on 18. 

The projected cut for that division, as of Thursday morning, is nine over. 

Girls 14-15 

Lily Dessel withdrew from the tournament. 

Boys 14-15 

Joey Iaciofano 

Iaciofano enters round two right on the cut line for the division at 13-over par. 

He carded an 84 in the first round after a rough front nine in which he turned at 46. 

Iaciofano played significantly better on the back, shooting a 38.
