WATCH: Vinny Papa on Golf Channel Tonight in Notah Begay National Championship
Watch for Rhode Island’s Vinny Papa Thursday night when Golf Channel airs the Notah Begay III Girls Junior National Championship that took place at Kaasati Pines in Louisiana.
The tournament will air at 7 p.m.
The boys version of the tournament, featuring Charlie Woods aired on Wednesday night.
Papa at Notah Begay National Championship
As GolfNewsRI reported, Papa finished 17th in the tournament, posting a final round score of 76 to finish five-over.
Papa opened the round with a par on the first hole, but back-to-back bogeys sent her down the leaderboard.
After four straight pars, Papa closed the front nine with bogeys on the eighth and ninth holes to turn at 40.
On the back side, Papa birdied the 11th hole, but bogeyed the 13th hole.
She was even par for the back and shot 76 overall.
The tournament was won by Ziyi Zhao, who finished at six-under par and led pretty much wire-to-wire.
There were a total of 30 competitors in Papa’s age group.
