McIlroy Calls for Greg Norman to Step Down from LIV Golf

Golf superstar Rory McIlroy has made arguably his strongest comments to date against Greg Norman and LIV Golf.

Speaking at the DP World Tour event in Dubai on Tuesday, McIlroy called on Norman to step down and go away.

“Greg Needs to go. He needs to exit stage left,” McIlroy said

He continued, “He’s made his mark, but I think now is the right time to say you’ve got this thing off ground. No one’s going to talk unless there’s an adult in the room that can actually try to mend fences.”

Milroy’s comments come about a week after it was reported that Norman was going to be replaced as LIV Golf CO and former TaylorMade exec Mark King was going to take over.

LIV has denied the report.

The game of golf is coming off a year filled with controversy, between comments exchanged by the two tours and players jumping from the PGA Tour to LIV.

All those players have since been suspended from the PGA Tour.

“I don’t think we will have another year like this one because all of the noise has been about who is jumping ship, who is going where, who is staying, who is going,” said McIlroy.

McIlroy is currently the number one player in the world and will seek to defend his Dubai title this week.
