Mike Hamilton Named RI Men’s Player of Year
Mike Hamilton has been named the Rhode Island Men’s Player of the Year, the Rhode Island Golf Association announced on Monday.
Hamilton took home the trophy at the Rhode Island Stroke Play championship at Montaup just weeks after losing in the championship match to Kevin Blaser at the Rhode Island Amateur.
Following both of those events, Hamilton nearly snagged another trophy at the Rhode Island Mid-Amateur at Triggs, but finished fourth.
This is Hamilton’s first RI Player of the Year award.
Big Year for Hamilton
Outside of state events, Hamilton beat Tom McCormick to win his fourth Kirkbrae Club Championship back in August.
He also partnered with Matt Montt to win the Gilholm Cup and Worcester Country Club’s Anderson Cup over the last couple of months.
