Eaton, Emery Card High Finishes at New England Interscholastic Championships
Moses Brown star Kylie Eaton and St. Raphael Academy star Nick Emery led all Rhode Islanders on Monday at the New England Interscholastic Golf Championships at Mohegan Sun.
Eaton posted a two-over par 74 to finish in solo fifth in the girls division out of nearly 50 competitors.

Molly Smith won the girls tournament at eight under par. Smith is one of the top junior girls in the country.
On the boys side, Emery carded an even par 72 to finish in a tie for 12th. He was just five shots behind tournament winner Elliiot Spaulding, who finished at five-under.
Eaton’s Round
Eaton got off to a great start, birding three of the first six-holes to turn at three-under par for the tournament.
However, the back nine was a bit of a rollercoaster.
After parring the tenth hole, Eaton went bogey, bogey, triple (8) to fall back over par.
She birdied the 15th hole, but closed with a bogey on the 18th to shoot 74.
Emery’s Round
While Eaton’s back nine was an adventure, Emery could says the same about the front nine.
Emery opened with a bogey on the first hole, bounced back with a birdie and then made two more bogeys to go to two-over.
Things really got exciting when he birdied the fifth hole, then made an incredible eagle on the par-5 sixth hole to get under par.

The eagle was followed by a double on the seventh hole and a bogey on nine to turn at two-over.
Making the turn, Emery birdied the 12th hole, bogeyed the 13th and then finished strong with birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to card an even par round.
