Kirby in 37th After Round 1 of Senior PGA Professional Championship
Rhode Island’s Ed Kirby is in a tie for 37th after the first round of the Senior PGA Professional Championship in New Mexico.
Kirby fired a one-under 71 in the opening round on Thursday.

He tees off at 8 a.m. local time on Friday.
Florida’s David Hronek has the lead at eight under, with two players at seven under right behind him.

The Aquidneck Club pro got off to a fast start, birding two of the first five holes to quickly get to two under par.
Things were a bit of a rollercoaster from there.
Kirby doubled the seventh hole, but then birdied the eight hole to turn a 35.
On the back side, he bogeyed 10 and 14, before closing with birdies on 16 and 18 to post 1-under par for the day.
