O’Leary Finishes 36th, Notre Dame Misses Match Play Cut at Jackson Stephens Cup
2019 Rhode Island Amateur champ Andrew O’Leary carded a third round 79 to finish in a tie for 36th during the stroke play portion of the Jackson Stephens Cup.
The 79 followed back-to-back 74s in the tournament and dropped him ten spots in the standings.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished in a tie for fifth overall and missed the match play cut.
The four teams who made the cut are North Carolina, Florida State, Stanford and Texas.
O’Leary’s 79
O’Leary opened the third round with three straight pars, before making his first bogey of the round on the fourth hole.
After three more pars, O’Leary bogeyed back-to-back holes to turn at 39.
Things got away from O’Leary on the back side when he doubled the 11th and 12th holes to go to seven over for the day.
He got a bounced back birdie on the 15th hole, but gave it right back on 17 to shoot 79.
