Slew of Locals in Contention at UConn Invitational

The UConn Invitational is entering its final round at GreatHorse on Tuesday and there are a slew of locals in contention, both team wise and individually.

On the individual side, former Moses Brown star Harry Dessel is having his best collegiate tournament to date.

After rounds of 73 and 72, Dessel is tied for second overall. 

He is the only Lafayette player inside the top 15.  

URI star Brandon Gillis is winning the tournament with a score of five-under par. 

He has posted rounds of 71 and 68 to take a good lead into the final round. 

URI freshman Aidan O’Donovan is tied for 17th at seven over, while Bryson Richards is tied for 28th. 

For Bryant, Jose Suarez and Jack Woods are tied for 51st and 56th respectively. 

Team Tournament 

On the team side of things, the University of Rhode Island will look to make it two wins in a row on Tuesday. 

Rhody sits in second place with a team score of 21-over par, just two shots back of St. John’s. 

Bryant University is in 12th place with a team score of 65-over.
