Gillis, Richards Lead URI to Victory at Wildcat Fall Invitational
Brandon Gillis finished third and Bryson Richards took fourth as the University of Rhode Island Golf team won the Villanova Wildcat Fall Invitational on Wednesday at Radnor Valley Country Club in Pennsylvania.
Gillis posted a two-under 208 over three rounds, while Richards added a 209.
While Gillis and Richards led the way, every Ram player finished inside the top 20 – an impressive performance for sure.
Geronimo Narizzano and Aidan O’Donovan tied for 12th at eight over par, while Chuck Tragesser finished in a tie for 17th.
As a team, Rhode Island finished 11-over par for the tournament to beat Fairleigh Dickinson by four shots.
This is Rhody’s first tournament victory of the season after a few previous close calls.
Bryant Finishes 4th
While URI won the tournament, the Bryant Bulldogs finished fourth overall at 37-over par.
The Bulldogs were led by Jack Woods, who finished seventh at three-over par.
Tyler Dupuis and Patrick Fennelly both finished inside the top 20 at 17th and 19th respectively.
