The Triggs Bids – Overview
On Wednesday, September 14, GolfNewsRI obtained copies of the three bids to operate and manage Triggs Memorial Golf Course.
The bids are all public information and can be found through the City of Providence Open Meetings Portal.
Given that the bids are more than 200 pages long, in some cases, we do our best to break each one down and pull out what we think you – the golfers – would find interesting.

Despite speculation, there were only three bids to operate and manage Triggs.
The bids were opened on Monday, as GolfNewsRI reported, and you can listen to the opening HERE.
Fast forward to the 4:50 mark of the video, approximately.
Those bids were the current management group, FCG Associates, the Rhode Island Golf Association and the Northeast Golf Company.
Over the next couple of hours (it’s a lot to read), GolfNewsRI will publish our breakdowns of each bid, similar to what we did with the RFP. Page numbers, quotes etc..
If you would like to get a head start and read the bids yourself, they are here:
According to the City of Providence, the winner of the bid will not be announced for about 60 days from the opening of them.
It is our understanding that the bidding is closed and no other bids will be considered.
Thank you for following our coverage of this critical decision that will have an impact on Triggs and golf in Rhode Island for many years to come.
Best of luck to all bidders but I’m hoping that the RIGCSA wins it!
