O’Leary Finishes 37th, Notre Dame 4th at Fighting Irish Classic

Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Andrew O’Leary finished in a tie for 37th in his first collegiate tournament of the season on Monday afternoon at the Fighting Irish Invitational. 

O’Leary started the day in a tie for 12th, but a third round 75 dropped him 25 spots on the leaderboard. 

Meanwhile, O’Leary’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished fourth overall behind first place Florida, second place Georgia Southern, and third place North Carolina. 

The Irish were 16-under as a team.

O’Leary’s Final Round 

After saving par on the first two holes, O’Leary birdied the third hole, bogeyed the fourth and then made another birdie on the fifth hole. 

O’Leary then made back-to-back bogeys on the sixth and seventh holes, before parring out to turn at 36. 

On the back side, O’Leary bogeyed the 10th and 11th holes, then added two more bogeys on the 15th and 17th holes to shoot 75.
