Austin Cilley Leads RI Mid-Am by 1 Shot After Opening Round
Seeking his first state wide win, Austin Cilley leads the Rhode Island Mid-Amateur by one shot after the opening round at Triggs Memorial Golf Course on Wednesday.
Cilley posted a three-under 69 to lead RI Stroke Play champion Mike Hamilton and Chris Flowers by one shot with 18 holes to play.

Former RI Amateur champions Tom McCormick, Brad Valois and Bobby Leopold are all two shots back at one-under par.
Cilley, Hamilton and Flowers go off at 11:18 a.m. in the final round on Thursday.
Cilley’s 1st Round
The former basketball star opened the round with a bogey on the second hole, but got back on track with birdies on eight and nine to turn at one-under 34.
On the back side, Cilley birdied the 13th hole , bogeyed the 14th and bounced back with a birdie on the 15th hole.
He closed the round with a birdie on 17 to get to three-under for the day.
Auclair Leads Senior Division
In the senior portion of the championship, Kirkbrae’s John Auclair leads Michael Soucy and EJ Wholey by one shot.
Auclair fired a one-under 71 in round one to take the lead heading into the final round.
