Cam Smith, 5 Others to Make LIV Golf Debut at The International

Defending British Open Champion and World #2 Cam Smith is one of six players to join the LIV Golf Tour.

Joaquin Niemann, Marc Leishman, Anirban Lahiri, Harlod Varner III and Cameron Tringale are the others.

All players are expected to make their debut when LIV Golf comes to the International starting on Friday, September 2.

Smith had been rumored to be going for the longest time, but took his shot at the FedEx Cup Championship first.

With Smith now in the fold, LIV golfers have won 12 of the last 24 majors.

Smith also won the Players Championship back in March.

Joaquin Niemann won the Genesis Invitational earlier this year, but it appears now that he will not be defending that title.

Leishman, Lahiri, Varner and Triangle have all struggled to be competitive on the PGA Tour over the last couple of years or so.

Earlier this year, Varner won the Saudi International Tournament by draining a long putt on the 18th hole to beat Bubba Watson.
