Kylie Eaton Out Duels Sister Adriana to Win 4th Straight Kirkbrae Women’s Club Championship

Kylie Eaton out dueled her sister Adriana to win her fourth straight Kirkbrae Women’s Club Championship on Thursday morning.

It was an epic duel with Kylie winning 1-up.

This is the fourth time the two sisters have face each other in a tournament situation (State or Club) and Kylie has won all four matchups to this point.

At Kirkbrae, club champions get a parking spot right next to the clubhouse.

This will be the first time Kylie will actually be able to use the spot herself, as she recently got her permit.

This championship wraps up a strong competitive season for Kylie, who won the Women’s Amateur last month, made it to the finals of the Junior Amateur and won another Kirkbrae Club title.

The Match

Adriana got off to the start that she wanted, taking a two-up lead through nine holes.

After the two sisters halved the tenth hole with pars, Kylie birdied the 11th hole to cut the lead to one.

On 12, Adriana put her second shot in the green side bunker on the right and struggled to get out as her ball nestled under the lip of the bunker.

Kylie tied the match.

On the tough 13th hole, Adriana put her second shot just over the back of the green with a back pin.

Incredibly, she chipped in for birdie to grab the lead back.

It didn’t last long, as Kylie tied the match again on 14 and then drained a 20 footer for birdie on the par-3 15th to go one-up.

This was her first lead of the match.

On 16, Kylie’s tee shot went a bit wayward, leaving her a tough chip. Even still, she had a par putt to halve the hole, but it just missed.

Back and forth we go.

On the par-3 17th hole, Kylie stuck her tee shot approximately ten feet from the pin and knocked in the birdie putt. Adriana missed hers and the defending RI Women’s Amateur Champ took a one-up lead into 18.

The two halved the 18th hole, giving Kylie the title back.
