Vinny Papa Finishes 4th at Northern Junior
Vinny Papa finished in a tie for fourth place at the Northern Junior Amateur at Great River Golf Club in Connecticut.
The tournament wrapped up on Wednesday afternoon with Papa posting her second consecutive round of 74 to finish at four-over for the tournament, just two shots out of a playoff for the championship.
Former St. Mary – Bay View star Morgan MacLeod finished the tournament in a tie for 23rd at 18-over par.
A three-way playoff to decide the winner is still ongoing.
Papa’s Final Round
Starting the day two shots off the lead, Papa opened the round with a bogey on the first hole, but bounced back with two straight birdies to get to one-under par for the day.
She parred out the rest of the front side to turn at 35.
On the back side, Papa bogeyed the 11th hole and 15th hole to put her one-shot off the lead heading into the final stretch.
After pars on 16 and 17, Papa had a birdie putt to get into the playoff on 18, but ran it six-feet or so by the hole and missed the comebacker.
The result, a bogey and a tie for fourth.
