Potowomut’s Andoscia Wins Drive, Chip & Putt Local Qualifier

Potowomut’s Ava Andoscia won the Drive, Chip & Putt local qualifier in Connecticut earlier this week at TPC River Highlands.

She finished with a total score of 125 to win the qualifier and move one step closer to going to Augusta National.

RI’s Vinny Papa finished second with a score of 107. 

Both Andoscia and Papa advance to the next qualifier at Lyman Orchard on August 11.

Iliana Chaplinksi finished third, she also advances.

Andoscia’s Scores 

Andoscia scored a total of 40 points in the driving portion of the competition, and 35 points in chipping. 

The chipping score ended up being the difference maker, as she beat everyone in the field by at least nine points, if not more. 

When it came to putting, she added 50 points to seal the win. 

She put up 50 points which helped give her the win.  

Papa’s Scores

Using a 7-wood, Papa won the driving portion of the competition with 41 points. 

She followed up with 16 points in chipping and 50 points in putting.
