Tony Finau Rallies to Win 3M Open

Tony Finau overcame a five stroke deficit with 11 holes to play to beat Scott Piercy and win the 3M Open on Sunday afternoon at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota.

Finau posted a four-under 67 in the final round to secure his third career PGA Tour win.

He finished 17-under for the tournament.

“I expected myself to contend and win again this year, so to be able to do it this late in the season when you’re running out of tournaments and you put that type of expectation on yourself, it’s so satisfying,” Finau said after the round.

Finau was also helped by the fact that Piercy completely fell apart.

Piercy had a tournament record 54-hole score, but then posted a 76 in the final round to finish in fourth place.

He bogeyed four of six holes, and then made a disastrous triple-bogey on the 14th hole.
