Max Jackson Preps for U.S. Junior Am at Bandon Dunes

Rhode Island golf phenom Max Jackson is just a day away from his first round at the U.S. Junior Amateur at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.
Jackson tees off at 9:05 a.m. pacific time at Bandon Dunes on Monday, July 25.
His second round will take place on Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. pacific time at Bandon Trails.
“I think this is going to be the toughest tournament I’ve ever played in, and the competition is going to be the toughest I’ve ever faced,” Jackson told GolfNewsRI’s Joe Calabro in an episode of the RI Amateur Series.

He added, “I know Bandon is like a linksy course, something we are not used to in the northeast, so the practice rounds are going to be important to understand the course. And just understanding how to play golf on the west coast, that is going to be really important as well.”

Jackson flew out to Oregon on Friday morning with his dad and his caddy Liam. Upon arrival, they took a two hour car ride to the resort.
He had played practice rounds at Bandon Dunes and Bandon Trails pretty much everyday since arrival.
“It’s unreal Joe. Absolutely beautiful. As nice as anything I have ever seen for sure,” Gregg Jackson, Max’s dad, told GolfNewsRi in a message on social media.
