The Triggs Ladies Inner Club celebrated it’s 50th anniversary on Sunday with a tournament and a luncheon at Triggs Memorial.

The Ladies Inner Club at Triggs was launched in 1972 and has continued to grow each year since then. 

“Wonderful day for the 50th anniversary of the Triggs Ladies Inner Club. Great job to our committee for putting together a fantastic event attended by  all the members and numerous past members,” writes the Inner Club in a social media post. 

Among the notable e past and present members that attended the event were the club’s longest active member Ann DeStefanis, former members included founding member Rita Loppi, Lucy Zodda (past president 1995-97), Barbara Rocchio, Sue Falcone, Pat James, Betty D’Acchioli, and Nikki Hartshorn.

Those present remembered the Club’s departed members with a special Memorial celebration, including fundraising for a local non-profit organization. 

This year, the group raised $650 in support of Clothes to Kids, whose mission is to provide new and quality used clothing to low-income or in-crisis, school-age children in Providence County, Rhode Island—free of charge.

The Tournament 

First place winners of the day included the teams of Linda DaRosa, Catherine Parente, Barbara Davis, and Judy Gravier; and Suzette Gervais, Carolyn Pacheco, and Sue Falcone.  

Second place winning teams included Alex Callum, Tracy Higgins, Jean Luisi, and Sue Reavey; and Linda Amaral, Barbara Fontaine, Despina Metakos and Rosemary Zehntner.  

Closest to Pin winners were Trish Labossiere, Lillian McGee, and Pam Brodeur.
