Francoeur in 44th, Chatfield Misses Cut at Southern Am
Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur is in a tie for 44th after two rounds at the Southern Amateur at Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia.
Francoeur posted a second round 68 to move up the leaderboard and inside the top 50.
This comes after he missed the cut at Sunnehanna and then finished near the bottom at the Northeast Amateur.
Meanwhile, Davis Chatfield missed the cut after finishing two-over for the first two rounds.
He will look to bounce back at the Western Am before heading to the U.S. Amateur in August.
The cut was 1-under par.
Francoeur’s 2nd Round
After a first round 72, Francoeur bounced back in the second round.
The Louisville star opened with birdies on the first and fourth hole, before parring out to turn at 33.
On the back side, Francoeur birdied the 10th hole, bogeyed the 12th and then birdied 13.
After a par on 14, Francoeur bogeyed 15, birdied 16, bogeyed 17 and birdied 18 to shoot 68
