Kevin Blaser Just 1 Shot Back After First Round of Providence Open
Round one of the Providence Open at Triggs is in the books and Kevin Blaser is just one shot off the lead heading into the final round.
Blaser, who was first off, posted a 5-under 67 on Thursday and is one shot behind Canada’s Matt Shubley heading into Friday’s final round.
The next closest Rhode Islander is Brad Adamonis, who is tied for 7th at 3-under.
After opening with eight straight pars, Blaser got things rolling with a birdie on the ninth hole to turn at 34.
On the back side, he added a birdie on the 10th hole, and then eagled the 13th hole to move to four-under for the round.
A bogey on 14 dropped him one shot, but he bounced back with birdies on the 16th and 18th holes.
