RI’s McCormick Finishes 18th at Vermont Open
Rhode Island’s Tom McCormick finished in a tie for 18th at the 2022 Vermont Open at Lake Morey Resort earlier this month.
McCormick fired a three-day total of 210 (even par) to finish 18th with Justin Grondahl.
San Jose Country Club’s Berk Harvey won the tournament at 12-under par, while Massachusetts’ native Shawn Warren finished second.
McCormick was one of only a few Rhode Islanders in the tournament.
Others include URI star Bryson Richards, who finished 34th, and Newport Country Club’s Austin Giroux, who took 43rd.
Jon Pannone and Austin Cilley missed the cut.
Next up for the locals will be a U.S. Amateur qualifier at Valley Country Club on July 5 and then the Rhode Island Amateur at Wanumetonomy in the middle of the month.
