Dustin Johnson “Very Confident” in Decision to Join LIV Golf

Speaking to the U.S. media for the first time this week, Dustin Johnson said that he is “very confident” in decision to join the controversial LIV Golf Tour.

Johnson was a surprise addition to the original roster of players put out by Greg Norman’s tour a couple of weeks ago.

“Obviously it was a tough decision, but I feel very confident in the decision I made. Yeah, I’m definitely happy and looking forward to obviously this weekend and the rest of the events this year,” Johnson said on Friday.

Upon joining LIV, Johnson, like many other players, resigned from the PGA Tour.

He was then dropped by one of his main sponsors, RBC.

“If anything, I would have liked to have gone just a hair later, but it made sense to go when I did,” said Johnson.

Through two rounds, Johnson is one-over for the tournament and in a tie for 29th.

Johnson will be back in the New England area in September when LIV Golf comes to The International.
