Multiple Rhode Islanders Playing in Mass Open

The 112th Mass Open is underway on Wednesday at Longmeadow Country Club. 

While the majority of players in the field are Mass natives, there are a handful of Rhode Islanders taking their shot at the title. 

The Rhode Islanders in the field include Warwick’s Jonathan Pannone, Coventry’s Brian Owens, West Warwick’s Brendon Ray, and Wanumetonomy’s Nick Jagoe. 

The Mass Open is a 54-hole event with a cut coming after 36 holes. 

The professional purse is $75,000 and will be distributed to the low 50 players and ties. 

Amateur golfers will be awarded merchandise certificates.
