Newport CC Named Best Private Course in Rhode Island
Golfweek has named Newport Country Club the best private course in Rhode Island.
Newport is hosting the 2024 U.S. Senior Open, it has also been home to a U.S. Women’s Open and a U.S. Amateur.
“The hundreds of members of that ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce these rankings,” writes Golfweek about their criteria.
Back in 2020, Newport was named one of the top 100 courses in the country by Golf.com
It was also named a top 50 course in the Northeast.
