Mickelson Commits to LIV Golf Event in London
After months and months of silence, Phil Mickelson is returning to the game of golf.
Mickelson has committed to this week’s LIV Golf event in London, the maiden voyage for the new Saudi-backed Tour.
“Phil Mickelson is unequivocally one of the greatest golfers of this generation. His contributions to the sport and connection to fans around the globe cannot be overstated and we are grateful to have him. He strengthens an exciting field for London where we’re proud to launch a new era for golf,” said LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman.
According to Golf Channel’s Brentley Romine, Mickelson signed a contract with LIV Golf on Saturday night that is estimated to be worth $200 million.
The first LIV Golf event begins on Thursday in London and will be streamed online.
