Cumberland Wins Playoff, Advances to State Championship

The Cumberland Clippers are headed back to the State Championship.
The Clippers beat Ponaganset and Lincoln in a three-team playoff on Tuesday at Kirkbrae Country Club to clinch the final spot out of the North Division.

Cumberland won the match with a score of 172, while Ponaganset posted a 184 and Lincoln a 198.
North Smithfield is the other team to make it out of the North Division.
Scoring Summary
The Clippers were led by Johnny Walsh who posted the low round of the day with a 37.
Marcus Ziniti added a 43 and Brady Hogan a 44.
Sam Medici rounded out the scoring with a 48.
Ponaganset was led by Gianna Papa who posted a 40.
Earlier in the day, Papa withdrew from the Girls State Championship Tournament in Warwick to play in the match with her team.
Nick Flori added a 47, Alex Wildgoose posted a 48 and Brendon Moreau rounded out the scoring with a 49.
The Lions were led by Beckett Cournoyer with a 44 and Jack Lawson with a 48.
