O’Donovan, Lenane Fall in Round of 16 at U.S. Four Ball Championship
University of Rhode Island commit Aidan O’Donovan and partner Joe Lenane fell in the round of 16 at the U.S. Four Ball Championship in Alabama on Tuesday.
O’Donovan and Lenane lost 2 and 1 to 26th seeded Chip Brooke and Marc Dull.
The Match
After some back and forth on the front nine, the match was tied through seven holes before Brooke and Dull took a one-up lead on the par-3 eighth hole.
They went two up with a bogey on the 11th hole, while O’Donovan and Lenane made a double-bogey.
On the very next hole, O’Donovan and Lenane got one back by making a birdie.
However, Brooke and Dull won the 13th Hoel to get the two-up lead back.
They would not relinquish it the rest of the way.
