Two Players Tied Atop Leaderboard After Round 1 of Burke Memorial

The first round of the Burke Memorial is complete and two players are tied atop the leaderboard. 

Agawam Hunt’s Joel Harvey and Connecticut National’s Nick Hidden are both two-under after the first day and hold a one-shot lead over Bobby Leopold Cameron Moniz Brad Valois and Lance Gillett. 

All of those players were at Newport on Monday. They switch to Pawtucket on Tuesday. 

As for players who played Pawtucket on Monday, you have to scroll quite a bit down the leaderboard to find them. 

Dave Rego is tied for 22nd at five-over par after playing Pawtucket. 

He is the lowest scoring Pawtucket player in the field after the first day.

Harvey’s 1st Round 

Harvey opened the round with four straight pars, before making a bogey on the fifth hole to go to one over. 

However, he recovered. 

Harvey birdied the seventh hole, and then added birdies at 12 and 16 to shoot 70. 

Hedden’s 1st Round 

Hidden got off to a great start, birding the first three holes to jump out to a big lead at the time. 

He then bogeyed the fourth hole, before dropping birdies at nine, 11 and 13, to again pull away from the field. 

However, he closed with three bogeys in the last five holes to shoot 70.
