Rhode Islanders Miss Cut at U.S. Women’s Open Qualifying

Rhode Islanders Susie Cavanagh and Kylie Eaton missed the cut at the U.S. Women’s Open qualifier on Thursday in Worcester. 

Cavanagh, the assistant pro at Ledgemont, posted a six-over 146 for the 36 hole qualifier to miss the cut by six shots. 

Eaton, the defending RI Girls Junior Amateur champ, finished 15-over parlor the day.

As GolfNewsRI reported, Vinny Papa withdrew after four holes due to illness. 

New Jersey’s Ami Gianchandani won the qualifier at even par. 

New York’s Kaitlyn Lee and MA’s Molly Smith will be the two alternates.
