Columbia Falls Short at Ivy League Championship

Entering the final round with the lead, the Columbia Women’s Golf team fell three shots short of winning the Ivy League Championship on Sunday afternoon at The Ridge at Back Brook in New Jersey. 

Columbia carded a team score of 31-over par, three shots back of the champion Princeton, who finished at 28-over par.

Rhode Islanders Allison Paik and Alexis Florio finished 10th and 20th respectively in the tournament. 

For Paik, this was one of the best finishes of her young collegiate career.

Paik’s Final Round

Paik opened with a birdie on the second hole, before following up with bogeys on the fourth and sixth holes. 

She then birdied the seventh hole, doubled the 8th hole and bogeyed the ninth hole to turn at 39. 

On the back side, Paik birdied the 11th hole before closing with bogeys on the 13th, 16th and 17th to shoot 77. 

Florio’s Final Round

Florio started the day with pars on the firs two holes, before bogeying three of the next four to go to three over. 

After a par on the seventh hole, Florio triple bogeyed the par-3 8th hole to turn at 42. 

On the back side, Florio bogeyed the 10th and 12th holes before parring out to shoot 80.
