Cantlay, Schauffele Win Zurich Classic of New Orleans

The team of Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday afternoon in Avondale, Louisiana.

The Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teammates posted a 29-under 259 to win the tournament by two shots over Billy Horschel and Sam Burns.

“We sort of just plotted along, today was probably the worst of our four rounds. Pat stayed calm which was good for me because it has been awhile since I’ve been in any sort of contention, so it was good,” Schauffele told CBS after the round. 

Cantlay and Schauffele led the tournament from wire-to-wire starting on Thursday with a best ball score of 59. 

Both players get world ranking and FedEx Cup points for the victory.

Schauffele will get an invite  to next year’s Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. 

Cantlay is already in the tournament.
