Max Jackson Qualifies for One of Biggest Junior Tourneys in U.S.

La Salle phenom Max Jackson has qualified for one of the biggest junior tournaments in the U.S.
Jackson posted a one-over 72 to win the Scott Robertson Qualifier at Montaup Country Club by two shots over URI commit Aidan O’Donovan on Friday afternoon.
O’Donovan also qualified for the Robertson.
“The Scott Robertson in Roanoke, VA is one of junior golf’s “majors” . Many future college and PGA/LPGA pros have had wins at this prestigious event,” writes the U.S. Challenge Cup about the event.

The Scott Robertson Tournament will be held from May 29 to 22 at Roanoke Country Club.
Jackson’s Round
Starting on the first hole at Montaup, Jackson dropped a putt for birdie to get to one-under right off the jump.
He followed up with two bogeys on the second and third holes to go to one-over, before closing the front nine with a birdie on five and eight to turn at 35.
Making the turn, Jackson birdied the 13th hole, but followed up with bogeys on the next three to post 72 for the day.
Other Rhode Islanders in Field
As mentioned above, URI commit Aidan O’Donovan finished second behind Jackson.
Cumberland’s Johnny Walsh also finished in a tie for second, all at three-over.
La Salle’s Joseph Earley finished in a tie for 15th at eight over, while Narragansett’s Sebastian Carlsson finished in 26th.
East Greenwich’s Ryan Dacey took 31st, Hendricken’s Andrew Chadwick too 41st, St. Rays’ Nick Emery took 45th, and Portsmouth’s Mark Roberts and Smithfield’s Liam Hickey took came in 49th.
Rounding out the Rhode Islanders include Jacob Turbitt, who finished 56th, Barrington’s Sean Bonneau (58th) and Narragansett’s David Bruno II (61st).
