Chatfield in 7th After Day 1 of Stitch Intercollegiate

Davis Chatfield is in a tie for 7th after day one of the Stitch Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in North Carolina.
Through 30 holes, Chatfield is two-under par and tied with two other players for seventh.

Round two of the tournament was suspended due to darkness and will resume on Saturday at 8 a.m.
Chatfield’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish are currently in second place at three-under, four shots behind first place Duke.
Andrew O’Leary is tied for 40th.
Chatfield’s Day 1
Starting on the first hole, Chatfield made a birdie on the par-5 to get to one-under right off the jump.
He then birdied the seventh hole to turn at 34.
On the back side, Chatfield doubled the 12th hole, but recovered a little bit with a birdie on the 14th hole to post 1-under.
On the second 18, Chatfield started on ten and made a bogey.
The former Rhode Island Amateur champ then dropped birdies at 12 and 15 to turn at one-under.
Chatfield had pars on the first three holes of the back nine before play was called.
